TRANSFER TALK

Tottenham Hotspur, Inter Milan and UEFA Europa League side Arsenal are all following the progress of Adrien Rabiot at PSG. There is also talk that Barcelona will want him to replace 33-year-old (34 next May) Andrés Iniesta.

The French side bought Neymar for £199.08 million (€222m - AUS$330.72m - US$285.18m) and Kylian Mbappe on loan for a season before his £166.4 million (€180m - AUS$268.25m - US$215.01m) purchase next summer.

Under Financial Fair Play rules they have to keep their transfer expenditure within set limits in relation to their income over a three-year period. They either have to generate more commercial revenue, entirely possible and or sell some players to generate incoming transfer fees. They sold Serge Aurier to us and replaced him with a free transfer in Dani Alves for instance.

More players may well have to go and 22-year-old (23 next April)  central midfielder Adrien Rabiot has long been a player we have watched and indeed tried to sign. The French international's existing contract runs out in 2019.

Like 24-year-old (25 next July) Portuguese international André Gomes, rabiot offers a range of passing that may well help us break down stubborn packed defences. A player has to see a creative pass before he can play it, many can't see the pass to play it.
